Hampshire Air Festival may be a new event for 2026, but it is built on years of specialist experience in aviation, events and community festivals. The team brings together proven event management, airshow, aviation, marketing, technical and financial expertise to deliver a safe, professional and memorable weekend for everyone.

Jonathan Moore

Event Organiser

Jonathan Moore leads the Hampshire Air Festival team as Event Organiser, bringing extensive experience in designing and delivering large-scale outdoor events and air displays. As Founder & CEO of Montserrat Events, he has successfully developed complex multi-day festivals that combine aviation, live entertainment and community engagement. His focus is on creating a well-run, accessible airshow that families, enthusiasts and the local community will want to return to year after year.

Helen Webb

Marketing & Customer Experience

Helen Webb leads Sales & Marketing for Hampshire Air Festival, bringing a strong track record in aviation events and audience growth. Her previous work with leading UK airshows, including the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), where she was Head of Marketing for 14 years has set high standards in building engagement across enthusiasts, families and industry stakeholders. Helen is also on the Board of the European Airshow Council and is passionate about the power of airshows to inspire the next generation into aviation, innovation and STEM.

Barney Wainwright

Flying Display Director

Barney Wainwright is a Tier 3 (Civil/Military) Flying Display Director (FDD), the highest tier of accreditation, which allows him to direct large-scale and complex displays. He has served as the FDD for many airshows, including major events such as Navy Days and the Armed Forces Day National Event, as well as numerous flypasts. He has both a Military and Civilian aviation background and served as a helicopter pilot in the Royal Navy as well as leadership roles as well as a captain and instructor for commercial airliners. Barney works closely with participating pilots, display teams, the Civil Aviation Authority and air traffic services to ensure that every element of the display is carefully managed.

George Bacon

Commentator

George “Smokey” Bacon MBE is a former Army Air Corps aviator with over 4,000 flying hours on more than 20 different aircraft types. He is a historic aircraft display pilot, former CEO of the British Air Display Association, Chairman of the Army Historic Flight Charitable Trust, an accredited FDD as well as a highly experienced airshow commentator and broadcaster.​ His “voice of the airshow” role is well known at many major UK events, including the Royal International Air Tattoo, where he combines insight, humour and deep aviation knowledge.

Luke Tuffs

Website & Media

Luke developed a passion for aviation at a young age and went on to establish AeroView TV, delivering live coverage of airshows and aviation events to audiences around the world. He oversees the event’s website and digital platforms, ensuring visitors can easily access information and stay up to date before and during the festival. Luke also supports digital content delivery, helping to integrate live video, news and event updates across online channels.

Vaughan Bidewell

Finance

Vaughan Bidewell is a highly experience Finance Director and oversees finance for Hampshire Air Festival, underpinning the event with strong financial planning and governance. His role includes budgeting, financial controls, supplier payments and reporting, supporting the event’s long-term sustainability. Working alongside the wider Montserrat Events team, his careful stewardship will help the Air Festival grow and deliver value for visitors, partners and the local community. ​
